Happy Venus Day 💕
Yesterday was a huge milestone for me. It was my 40th birthday. You can imagine the build up of excitement leading to this special day. I have to admit, the news of the national lockdown starting on my birthday did not sit well with me (as you might all imagine). But I understand the necessity of it. Furthermore, I tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, I had not experienced the major and more challenging symptoms associated with it, except for the loss of smell - and that had encouraged me to book the test.
That said, I am very grateful to be in good health and that my symptoms are considered mild and manageable. I am also very very thankful to everyone near and far who, despite all odds, have made my birthday very special 💕
Lockdown # 2 Strategy:
One of the very important recommendations given to me by a health practitioner was to stay positive as this impacts my immune system’s ability to do its job properly - especially now. So to help myself feel more in control of the situation I devised myself a plan (listed below) to help me navigate these unexpected circumstances:
1- I decided to significantly limit my social media engagement (on my personal accounts) and use the time to practice a hobby of mine , which is both grounding and gives me a lot of peace: weaving. I learned how to use a weave loom with Christabel Balfour, who taught me the whole process from setting up a loom, warping and weaving rugs. It's a very soothing and calming process that will be so engrossing you won’t worry about anything else.
Head to her website as the enrolment for her next course will be on November 9th.
2- I will also do daily morning pages to help declutter my mind and shift some possible negative thinking that could arise during this time.
3- Daily gratitude list before bedtime. The reason being is that it helps me end the day on a very positive note.
4- Daily movement: considering my health at the moment, just gentle yin yoga feels like what my body needs. If that feels exhausting, I will probably opt for breathing exercises and particularly focus on those that help regulate my nervous system.
And last but certainly not least,
5- Daily catch up calls on House Party with my loved ones 🥰🤸🏻♀️❤️
If there is anything that you would recommend for me to do, hit me up on the socials, or drop me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
I will leave you with Hotel Costes' November playlist, which will be my weaving soundtrack for the month 🥰 & if you don't have Apple Music, tune into their radio on Spotify (link below)
Till next week,
